Orlando Sports Medicine Group provides Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy and Athletic Training
for orthopedic, sports, work and auto related injuries in the metro Orlando area at two Central Florida locations.
Massage therapy involves manipulating soft tissue structures of
the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle
spasm, and stress.  Massage therapy can improve circulation
of the lymphatic, musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

What Can Be Expected:
Each client fills out an intake form which covers:
medical history
lifestyle
stress level
painful or problem areas
expectations and goals

For a full body massage, you will be asked to remove clothing
to your level of comfort.  Undressing takes place in private - a
sheet is provided for draping.  The therapist will expose only the
part of your body being massaged, ensuring that your modesty
is respected at all times.  Your massage will take place in a
comfortable atmosphere.  We hope you enjoy a wonderful and
relaxing experience.

Medical Massage
If your physician believes you may benefit from Massage
Therapy as treatment for an injury or medical condition your
insurance may cover part or all of your care.  Auto Insurance,
Workers Compensation, some Blue Cross, Cigna and select
Private Insurances often cover Massage Therapy as a medical
service.

Medical Massage requires a prescription from your referring
physician.  OSMG will call to verify insurance coverage.  We then
provide medical notes for each visit, progress notes for your
physician and bill your insurance for you.  You are often
responsible for a co-pay or coinsurance.

TECHNIQUES USED

Relaxation
Using long, soothing massage
strokes to the superficial layers of
themuscles, this promises to be a
relaxing and stress reducing
massage.

Deep Tissue
Used mainly if someone has a
chronic muscle problem.  This
technique gets into the deep
muscle tissue and helps repair and
relax the muscle.

Neuromuscular
Used mainly for specific body parts.
This technique helps release
trigger points in the muscle that
cause pain.  Deep pressure is used
for this
technique.

Sports Massage
Used for general conditioning of the
soft tissue during training and after
competition.  This technique can
loosen the muscles, improving
movement
and performance.  In addition,
clients often experience faster
recovery from training and injuries.

Pregnancy
A perfect retreat for expectant
mothers.  Massage canprovide
stress and pain relief during the
final two trimesters of pregnancy.
